A LIFETIME OF PROFESSIONAL COMMITMENT

THE AMERICAN BOARD OF ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY

Not only is Dr. O’Neill board certified by the ABOS, but he also serves as a board examiner for this organization. This entails an annual trip to Chicago to quiz young surgeons sitting for their board certificate.

THE AMERICAN JOURNAL OF SPORTS MEDICINE

The American Journal of Sports medicine is internationally renowned as the definitive sports medicine journal, as well as one of the most highly cites orthopaedic journals in the world. As a research article reviewer for this journal, Dr. O’Neill is charged with deciding which papers meet the strict criteria making them worthy of publications.

PLYMOUTH STATE UNIVERSITY

Dr. O’Neill has a long relationship with Plymouth State University, working with both the Athletic Training and Exercise Physiology departments. He is an adjunct professor and has taught courses in neuroanatomy and neurophysiology. After serving as head team physician for over a decade, Dr. O’Neill continues to work with and mentors the athletic training students by hosting internships at his clinic. He is also involved with the Exercise Physiology Department with both research and classroom learning.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

Dr. O’Neill is an Affiliate Professor for the College of Health & Human Services. One of his duties involves a yearly trip to Durham to teach the athletic training students the art of a proper knee exam. His book, Knee Surgery: The Essential Guide to Total Knee Recovery, is now required reading for all UNH athletic training students.

COMMUNITY

Dr. O’Neill has been a longtime supporter of a multitude of local activities including cycling, basketball, and soccer teams. He served on the board of directors for Pemi-Baker Home Health, as well as a sponsor for such wide-reaching events as the Mount Washington Road Race. He is “the voice” for the annual Circle Triathlon in support of the Circle Program. He also provides on-field medical coverage for numerous local teams and events.

ATHLETIC TRAINING CLUB

Dr. O’Neill established the only Athletic Training Club in the state of NH. This group meets periodically to discuss and share information and experiences expanding on the field of sports medicine issues. The club is registered with the BOC and grants continuing education credits.

BURKE MOUNTAIN ACADEMY

Dr. O’Neill has been serving as the Team Physician for Burke Mountain Academy for over 25 years. Working with both the Alpine and Nordic teams, he is made available to all athletes for treatment and consultation of any Orthopaedic injuries.
